Collector’s book about automatons: In the Land of Automatons and Music Boxes .
Authors of this book about automatons: Annette Bordeau and Antoine Bataïani.
Summary of this book about automatons: Sainte-Croix is a small village in the Jura Vaudois region of Switzerland, which is located at about a thousand meters of altitude and, is very close to the French border. For over a century, this small village has continually fabricated music boxes in the face of various fashionable trends and crises.
In 1973, an automaton restorer and creator moved to the neighboring town of Bullet. He was attracted to the region by the “know-how” of local inhabitants. Thanks to him and one of his apprentices, the land of music boxes also became known as that of the automaton.
This book is a testimony to that which was and continues to be the work of the artisans who are committed to creating objects from another era. As they craft dreams through objects with a childish and romantic charm that will continue to fascinate and enchant us for years to come.
This book is written in French- 217 pages –120 color photos and 200 black and white photos . Rare book.
