Sainte-Croix of Switzerland located a thousand meters in altitude in Jura, not far from the French border. This small village has been known for its quality music box making that has survived, despite changing trends and crises for over one and a half centuries.
In 1973, an automaton creator and repairer moved to the region, seeking the know-how of the local inhabitants. Thanks to him and one of his students, the land of the music box, also became that of the automaton.
